UK to Host 33rd ITS World Congress in Birmingham Next October

The 33rd edition of the ITS World Congress will be staged in Birmingham next October, with the UK Government confirmed as the event’s official host. Ertico-ITS Europe, the organisation behind the congress series, made the announcement, positioning the gathering as a major moment for the intelligent transport sector.

Bringing the congress to the UK gives British policymakers, technology firms and transport operators a high-profile platform to demonstrate advances in connected and intelligent mobility. The event traditionally draws delegates from across the public and private sectors, covering topics that range from traffic management and vehicle connectivity to the digital systems underpinning modern urban transport networks.

For the micromobility industry, the timing is notable. Intelligent transport systems increasingly intersect with shared scooters, e-bikes and other light electric vehicles, particularly as cities look for ways to integrate these modes into broader mobility strategies. Hosting the congress puts the UK at the centre of those conversations, at least for the duration of the event.

The congress will take place next October, with Birmingham serving as the host city. Further programme details are expected to emerge as the event approaches.
