Skoda's 7-Seat EV Covers 582 Miles on One Charge—With a Catch

Skoda has taken the wraps off a new milestone for its electric lineup: a seven-seat production EV, the Peaq, managed to travel 582 miles without recharging. The run was not a typical owner experience, though. The car was driven exclusively on secondary roads, avoiding highways, and the team employed hypermiling techniques to stretch every electron. That means steady, low speeds and careful energy management rather than real-world driving conditions.

While the figure is impressive, it comes with an obvious asterisk. Most families will not replicate such range in daily use, especially with a full load of passengers and cargo or at higher speeds. Still, the achievement highlights how efficient the platform can be when pushed to its limits. Skoda has not announced official range ratings for the Peaq yet, so we will have to wait for standardized figures to see how it performs in normal driving.
