Nio Expands ES8 Lineup With New Wheel and Brake Package

Nio is broadening the configuration choices for its ES8 SUV by introducing a fresh wheel and brake package, a move that comes roughly a year after the model first reached customers. The optional bundle pairs upgraded wheels with revised brake calipers, giving buyers a way to sharpen the vehicle’s stance and braking hardware without stepping up to a higher trim.

Pricing for the package is set at 25,800 yuan, which converts to about $3,820, and it is offered on the entry-level version of the ES8. That positions the add-on as a relatively accessible upgrade for shoppers who want a more distinctive look and improved stopping components but don’t need the full range of features found further up the lineup.

The timing of the release highlights that demand for the ES8 has remained solid through its first year on the market. Rather than waiting for a mid-cycle refresh, Nio is using smaller, targeted options like this one to keep the model feeling current and to give existing and prospective owners more reasons to engage with the brand.

For Nio, which competes in China’s crowded premium electric SUV segment, such additions also serve a practical purpose: they can lift average transaction prices and keep configuration lists fresh without a major product overhaul. The company has not indicated whether the package will be extended to other ES8 variants.
