Lynk & Co Taps Volvo Cars to Handle European Distribution

Lynk & Co, the plug-in vehicle brand operating under Geely’s corporate umbrella, has picked Volvo Cars as its exclusive distribution partner for the European market. The move ties two Geely-affiliated marques closer together as the Chinese brand looks to simplify how its cars reach European buyers.

Rather than expanding its own retail footprint across the continent, Lynk & Co will lean on Volvo’s established dealer and logistics network. That gives the brand access to a distribution structure that already has years of experience selling cars in Europe, without the cost of building one from scratch.

Lynk & Co has never followed the explosive growth curve of some other Chinese EV startups, and its European rollout has had mixed results. Handing distribution duties to Volvo suggests the company is betting on consolidation and borrowed infrastructure instead of a standalone push.

For European shoppers, the practical question is what changes at the point of sale. More details on timing and which markets are affected are expected to emerge as the arrangement takes shape.
