Geely's New TT Electric Sedan Lands at Roughly $19,100, Undercutting Tesla by a Wide Margin

Geely has pulled the wraps off its TT, a battery-powered sport sedan now on sale in China with a starting sticker of 129,900 yuan, or about $19,100. Every version of the car ships with 800V fast-charging capability and LiDAR hardware as standard, a combination rarely seen at this end of the market. The model is rated for 640 km of range on a single charge, positioning it as a long-distance contender rather than a city-only runabout.

What stands out most is the pricing gap: buyers are getting next-generation charging architecture and advanced driver-assist sensors for a figure that sits well below what Tesla asks for its entry-level offerings — closer to half, in fact. That kind of value proposition puts pressure on established players and newer rivals alike in China’s crowded EV arena.

Geely’s move reflects a broader trend among Chinese automakers: packing premium technology into affordable packages to win over mainstream buyers. With the TT now officially launched, the question is whether its blend of range, charging speed, and price will translate into strong sales momentum.
