GAC Brings Electric Trucks and New Montx Van Brand to IAA Transportation 2026

Chinese automaker GAC made its trade fair debut at IAA Transportation in Hanover through its commercial vehicle division, GAC Commercial Vehicle. The company used the event to showcase its electric ambitions in the commercial sector, displaying the T9 electric truck alongside a newly introduced sub-brand called Montx, which will focus on light commercial vehicles.

GAC’s presence at the Hanover show marks a significant step in its efforts to expand beyond passenger cars and into the European commercial vehicle market. The T9 truck represents the company’s push into heavy-duty electric transport, while the Montx sub-brand signals a broader strategy to cover lighter commercial segments as well.

By launching Montx as a dedicated sub-brand for light commercial vehicles, GAC aims to address the growing demand for electric vans and small delivery vehicles. The move aligns with a wider industry trend of Chinese manufacturers entering Europe with zero-emission commercial offerings, challenging established players in the segment.
