Europe's First Genuinely Driverless Robotaxi Hits the Streets of Croatia

A Croatian startup little known outside its home country has become the first in Europe to put a truly driverless robotaxi into service. Backed by Rimac, the company has started carrying passengers in Croatia, marking a milestone for autonomous mobility on the continent.

The operation relies on technology from a Chinese autonomous vehicle firm, a partnership that helps the Croatian team leapfrog larger European players. Unlike earlier pilot projects that kept a safety driver behind the wheel, these rides are said to be fully driverless.
