BYD's Denza N8L Goes Fully Electric With a 960-km Range Claim

Denza, the premium brand under BYD’s umbrella, has introduced a battery-electric version of its N8L SUV. The new variant carries a starting price of 299,800 yuan, which works out to roughly $44,280 at current exchange rates.

The move broadens the N8L family, which until now had been offered only with plug-in hybrid powertrains. With the all-electric option, Denza now gives buyers a choice between two electrified approaches in the same model line.

Denza is positioning the BEV N8L around range: the company cites a figure of 960 km. That claim places the SUV among the longer-range electric models on the Chinese market, though official test-cycle figures can differ from real-world results.

The launch reflects a broader pattern among Chinese automakers, which are increasingly rolling out pure-electric versions of models that debuted as hybrids as they try to cover more of the premium electric segment.
