BMW Boosts iX3 Output in Hungary as European Orders Surge

BMW is ramping up iX3 production at its Hungarian facility in Debrecen, adding a third shift this month and shifting the plant to near-continuous operation. The move comes as the automaker works to keep pace with stronger-than-expected buyer interest in the electric SUV.

According to BMW, European customers have already signed up for roughly 100,000 units of the iX3. That order volume is what pushed the company to extend working hours rather than let waiting times stretch out.

Debrecen, one of BMW’s newer assembly sites, now plays a central role in supplying the iX3 to European markets. Running three shifts effectively means the line operates around the clock, a notable step for a model that has only recently entered showrooms.
