Audi Revives A2 Nameplate as an Efficient Electric Hatch

Audi is bringing back the A2 badge for a fresh electric hatchback that prioritizes efficiency over brute force. According to InsideEVs, the new model, dubbed the A2 E-Tron, can travel as far as 401 miles on a single charge, putting it among the longest-range compact EVs on the market.

The original A2 was known for its lightweight aluminum construction and distinctive, somewhat polarizing shape, and the new electric version appears to carry that quirky design language forward. Rather than chasing headline-grabbing acceleration figures, Audi has focused on squeezing maximum distance out of every kilowatt-hour.

That emphasis on efficiency matters as more buyers weigh real-world range against charging hassle. The A2 E-Tron looks set to appeal to drivers who want a practical, aerodynamically minded EV without moving up to a larger SUV. Audi has not yet confirmed pricing or a launch date for the model.
