Xpeng's Flagship GX Draws 3,000+ Middle East Orders as Overseas Push Accelerates

Xpeng is ramping up exports of its GX flagship SUV to the Middle East and Africa, and demand in the region is already outpacing what the company has on the water. The Chinese automaker said over the weekend that Middle East orders for the GX have topped 3,000 — even though local pricing for the model hasn’t been announced yet.
The update came via a Weibo post on Saturday. Xpeng kept the details thin: no word on shipment volumes, which countries are receiving cars, or when customers can expect deliveries. What we do know is that GX exports started in August, and the company is clearly leaning on the Middle East and Africa to widen the model’s reach beyond China.
A Six-Seat Flagship With Two Flavors
The GX went on sale in China on May 20 as a full-size, six-seat SUV, offered there in both battery-electric and extended-range electric form. Domestic pricing ran from 279,800 yuan to 359,800 yuan at launch. Which powertrain variants and trim levels are heading to the Middle East and Africa, Xpeng isn’t saying.
Domestic momentum has been swift. The GX hit its 20,000th delivery on August 31, a little over three months after launch. September alone accounted for 7,224 units, or 17.51% of the brand’s total deliveries that month, based on figures compiled by CnEVPost. Monthly volume has held steady in the 6,700 to 7,400 range since June.
Overseas Sales Become the Growth Engine
The GX export ramp lands at a useful moment. Xpeng’s overseas sales crossed 10,000 vehicles for the first time in September, reaching 10,055 units — up 100.94% year-on-year. For the first nine months of 2026, exports totaled 59,479 vehicles, a 100.11% gain, and they now represent 20.92% of overall deliveries versus 9.49% a year earlier.
That international growth is doing real work. Xpeng’s total deliveries slipped 9.20% year-on-year to 284,367 units through September, so markets outside China are effectively offsetting the home-market softness.
The company isn’t standing still on other fronts either. It launched the G9L SUV in Europe at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, one day after announcing the Mona L03 for Australia and New Zealand. On an August earnings call, chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said he expects overseas deliveries of the Mona L03 and other efforts to lift quarterly exports above 40,000 units in the fourth quarter.
Longer term, Xpeng has set a target of 1 million annual global sales by 2030, with half of that volume coming from Europe — a goal that will depend heavily on building out local production capacity.
