Wisconsin Wins $25 Million Grant for 42 Fast-Charging Stations

Wisconsin is set to expand its electric vehicle infrastructure with 42 new fast-charging locations, backed by $25 million in federal grants from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. This development comes after a legal standoff between Wisconsin, 15 other states, and federal authorities over the disbursement of EV infrastructure funds.

The NEVI program, part of the broader federal push to build a national charging network, aims to fill gaps in rural and underserved areas. Wisconsin’s new stations will help reduce range anxiety and support the growing number of EV drivers in the state. The funding was secured following the resolution of the dispute, which had delayed similar projects across multiple states.
