Gridserve and Voltloader Team Up to Grow Public Electric Truck Charging Network

UK charging operator Gridserve is widening its collaboration with electric haulier Voltloader, giving the logistics firm access to dedicated public charging hubs designed for heavy goods vehicles. Beyond the physical infrastructure, the arrangement includes preferential rates that apply across major freight corridors.

The move targets one of the more stubborn hurdles in electrifying road freight: the shortage of charging points suited to large trucks rather than passenger cars. By opening public eHGV hubs on strategic routes, Gridserve and Voltloader aim to make long-haul electric haulage more practical for operators weighing the switch.

The expansion builds on an existing partnership between the two companies, deepening ties between charging infrastructure and the freight sector at a time when electric truck adoption is still in its early stages.
