Vector Unveils Depot Charging Communication Module with 100-Metre Reach

German supplier Vector has introduced vSECC.InPlug, a communication solution designed for DC charging infrastructure in depot settings. The system allows the distance between the charging vehicle and the central power electronics to stretch up to 100 metres, addressing a common layout constraint in commercial and fleet charging environments.

By extending this communication link, the product enables greater flexibility in how depot charging stations are arranged, potentially reducing the need for additional power cabinets near each parking bay. This could simplify installation and lower infrastructure complexity for operators managing large vehicle fleets.

Vector’s product targets DC charging applications where space and layout planning are critical. The ability to separate the vehicle connection from the central electronics by up to 100 metres may prove useful in depots where power supply points are far from parking positions.
