Szczecin Expands Electric Fleet with 20 Solaris Articulated Buses

Szczecin is pushing ahead with the electrification of its public transport network by placing an order for 20 additional Urbino 18 electric buses from Solaris. The Polish manufacturer will deliver these articulated vehicles in 2027 and 2028, strengthening the city’s growing zero-emission fleet.

The Urbino 18 electric is designed for flexible charging: it supports both plug-in charging and pantograph-based opportunity charging. This dual capability allows operators to choose the most suitable method depending on route length and depot infrastructure.

With this order, Szczecin continues its shift toward cleaner urban mobility, following a broader trend among European cities to replace diesel buses with battery-electric alternatives.
