Swedish Battery Storage Startup Rebaba Raises Nearly €4 Million in Seed Funding

A Swedish battery storage company founded by former Northvolt employees has closed a seed funding round worth just under €4 million. The startup, called Rebaba, will direct the new capital toward growing its business around second-life battery storage systems.

The funding highlights continued investor interest in giving used EV batteries a productive second act rather than sending them straight to recycling. By repurposing packs that no longer meet the demands of vehicle use, companies like Rebaba aim to extract additional value from batteries while supporting grid and stationary storage applications.

The team’s background at Northvolt gives the venture direct experience in the European battery sector, an advantage as the continent builds out its domestic energy storage supply chain.
