Sunwoda Expands 15C Fast-Charging Battery Into a Megawatt Charging Network

Chinese battery producer Sunwoda is pushing its ultra-fast charging ambitions beyond the cell itself. The company, which unveiled a 15C battery in the spring, now intends to wrap a full charging ecosystem around that product — one anchored in megawatt charging system (MCS) hardware.

Under the plan, Sunwoda aims to have 10,000 MCS charging points in place, paired with renewable energy installations situated alongside them, before 2027 comes to a close. That combination of high-power charging and on-site clean generation is presented as the backbone of the ecosystem rather than an add-on.

For Sunwoda, the move signals a shift from component supplier to infrastructure player, betting that extremely fast charging only delivers its promised convenience when the surrounding grid and energy supply can keep pace.
