Regent Opens Seaglider Factory in Rhode Island as Marine Corps Work Expands

Regent Craft has cut the ribbon on a new manufacturing plant in Rhode Island, a move that positions the company to begin building seagliders for paying customers. The facility marks a step from prototype development toward serial production for the US-based venture.

The opening comes as Regent’s partnership with the US Marine Corps widens. The service branch has been exploring seagliders for military logistics, and the expanded programme signals growing confidence in the platform’s potential.

Seagliders are wing-in-ground-effect craft that skim above the water’s surface, blending the speed of an aircraft with the lower operating costs of a boat. Regent has positioned them as a sustainable option for coastal transport, a category that sits at the intersection of electric aviation and advanced marine mobility.

With the Rhode Island factory now operational, Regent is moving to scale up production and meet anticipated demand from both commercial and defence customers.
