R3 Lithium Begins Commercial Lithium Carbonate Production in Georgia

R3 Lithium has kicked off lithium carbonate production from recycled battery materials at its facility in Covington, Georgia. The plant, which has an annual capacity of 2,500 tons, is now moving from testing to continuous commercial operation.

The company extracts lithium from spent batteries, offering a domestic source of a critical material for the growing US battery supply chain. This development aligns with broader efforts to expand recycling infrastructure and reduce reliance on imported lithium.
