New York Picks Brooklyn Startup to Roll Out Street-Level EV Chargers Citywide

New York City is moving past its early charging experiments. Alongside the New York Power Authority, the city has tapped Brooklyn-based company it’s electric to construct a permanent network of curbside EV chargers spanning all five boroughs. The plan calls for several hundred new charge points to be deployed over a three-year window, gradually phasing out the temporary pilot units currently in place.

Instead of relying on scattered trial installations, officials want a durable, neighborhood-level system that serves drivers who cannot plug in at home.
