Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Gets Bigger Battery Options, Up to 650 km Range

Mitsubishi Motors Europe is updating the battery lineup for the Eclipse Cross, adding a larger 89 kWh NMC pack while also bringing in a mid-tier 67 kWh LFP option. The change gives buyers more choice in how much range they want, with the top configuration now capable of up to 650 kilometres on a single charge.

The move mirrors an announcement from Renault, which has confirmed the same two energy storage systems for its electric Scenic. The two models are sister vehicles built on shared technology, so the matching battery options come as little surprise for observers of the Renault-Mitsubishi alliance.

By offering both nickel-manganese-cobalt and lithium-iron-phosphate chemistries, Mitsubishi is covering two different priorities: maximum range and cost-conscious everyday driving. The Eclipse Cross joins a growing list of European EVs where buyers can pick a battery size to match their budget and travel habits.
