McLaren Charts a Broader 2030 Lineup: First SUV, Hybrid Coupes and a GT-Style Sedan

McLaren is preparing to stretch well beyond its supercar roots. According to a product roadmap reported by Automotive News, the British marque intends to add its first-ever SUV by 2030, alongside a pair of hybrid coupes and a grand tourer with sedan-like proportions.

The plan signals a notable shift in how McLaren positions itself. Rather than relying almost entirely on low-volume, high-price performance cars, the brand appears ready to compete in segments where rivals such as Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini have already found commercial success.

Hybrid technology sits at the center of the strategy. The upcoming coupes are expected to pair combustion engines with electrified assistance, a formula McLaren has already explored in its recent halo models. The GT-style model, meanwhile, would prioritize cabin space and long-distance comfort over outright track focus.
