Lidl GB Slashes Rapid Charging Prices and Pledges £10m for EV Network

Lidl’s UK branch is making electric vehicle charging more affordable for its shoppers. Drivers who use the Lidl Plus app will now pay less for rapid charging at the supermarket’s locations, a move that directly reduces the cost of topping up on the go.

Alongside the price cut, the retailer has committed an additional £10 million to expand and upgrade its charging infrastructure across the country. This investment signals a long-term bet on EV drivers as a core customer base, rather than a one-off promotion.

For UK EV owners, the combination of lower tariffs and a growing network could make Lidl a more attractive stop for both shopping and charging. The company has not yet detailed how many new charge points the funds will add or when the lower rates take full effect.
