Li Auto's Chip Arm Reportedly Seeks First Outside Funding at $2.2 Billion Valuation

Li Auto is reportedly preparing to open its semiconductor business to outside investors for the first time, targeting a pre-money valuation of roughly 15 billion yuan, or about $2.22 billion.

The Chinese automaker aims to pull in several billion yuan through the round, according to reports, as it looks to bankroll the expansion of its in-house chip operations.

The move would make Li Auto the latest EV maker to treat silicon as a strategic asset rather than an outsourced component, following a path already taken by several rivals aiming to cut costs and lock down supply.

Details of the round, including any named investors, have not been disclosed.
