Leapmotor to Add Sporty A10s to Its Electric SUV Range on October 18

Leapmotor is preparing to expand its compact electric SUV family with a new sport-flavored member. The Chinese automaker confirmed that the A10s will make its official debut in China on October 18, 2026, arriving as a trim-level addition to the existing A10 rather than a clean-sheet redesign. The company has not yet revealed what the new version will cost, leaving pricing as the biggest open question ahead of the launch.
Mechanically, the A10s is expected to mirror the standard A10 almost entirely. According to specifications reported by Chinese automotive outlet Yiche, the vehicle stretches 4,270 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a 2,605 mm wheelbase. Buyers will likely choose between two single-motor outputs of 70 kW and 90 kW, paired with 39.8 kWh or 53 kWh battery packs that deliver CLTC ranges of 403 km and 505 km respectively. The 800-volt architecture allows a 30-to-80 percent recharge in roughly 16 minutes.
Where the A10s sets itself apart is presentation and technology. It wears a black finish dubbed “Mirror Night Black,” gunmetal-gray brand lettering, black 18-inch sport wheels and a red “S” badge on the tailgate. Inside, drivers face an 8.88-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.6-inch floating central display with 2.5K resolution, powered by Qualcomm’s SA8295 chip. A LiDAR sensor and the SA8650 chip enable urban navigation on autopilot, automated highway driving and memory parking, including assisted driving that spans from one parking space to another.
The timing matters for Leapmotor’s sales momentum. The A10 has been the brand’s volume leader, but September deliveries slipped 24.08 percent month-on-month to 24,457 units after August’s record 32,214, still representing 23.15 percent of the company’s monthly total. Cumulative A10 deliveries reached 153,423 units through the end of September. The original A10 went on sale in China on March 26 in four variants priced between 65,800 yuan and 86,800 yuan, with LiDAR reserved for the top trim.
On a broader level, the A10s gives Leapmotor another lever to pull as it chases an ambitious annual target. The automaker shipped a record 105,656 vehicles globally in September, its third consecutive month above the 100,000 mark, and has delivered 666,539 units in the first nine months of the year, roughly 66.7 percent of its one-million-unit goal. Hitting that number would require fourth-quarter volume averaging about 111,154 cars a month, which is why a fresh, more distinctive A10 variant could matter beyond styling alone.
