Kia Holds the Line on 2027 EV6 Pricing at $37,900, Still $8,000 Above the EV3

Kia’s 2027 EV6 lands with an unchanged sticker, and that is both the good news and the awkward part. The compact electric crossover opens at **$37,900** before a $1,545 destination charge — identical to the 2026 model, which itself dropped by $5,000 only a few months back.

The catch sits one showroom aisle away. Kia’s new entry-level electric SUV, the EV3, starts at **$29,890**, roughly $8,000 below its larger sibling.

Same Money, Two Very Different Cars

Kia frames the flat EV6 pricing as a push to keep EVs within reach alongside the EV3 launch. The two models do share plenty of hardware, but they are not the same proposition under the skin.

  • Battery and range: The base EV6 Light Standard Range RWD runs a 63 kWh pack for an EPA-estimated 237 miles.
  • Long-range step: An extra $3,300 buys the Light Long Range RWD at $41,200, with an 84 kWh battery and up to 319 miles.
  • All-wheel drive: Adding a second motor trims range to 295 miles on the 84 kWh pack, or 270 miles in GT-Line AWD form.
  • EV3 baseline: The cheapest EV3 Light FWD uses a 58.3 kWh battery rated at 221 miles.

The 2027 EV6 is a carryover, so nothing changes on the design or equipment front. That includes Kia’s ccNC infotainment setup, which spans a curved panoramic display with twin 12.3-inch panels for instruments and navigation plus a 5-inch climate screen. Native NACS ports on both models mean Tesla Supercharger access without an adapter.

Where the Extra $8,000 Goes

The clearest dividing line is voltage. The EV6 rides on an 800V architecture, while the EV3 makes do with 400V. In practice that means a 10–80% top-up of roughly 18 minutes in the EV6 against about 30 minutes in the EV3.

Size tells a similar story. The EV6 measures 184.8 inches long with a 114.2-inch wheelbase; the EV3 comes in at 169.3 inches and 105.5 inches respectively. The smaller car is actually the taller of the two at 62 inches versus 60.8.

**2027 Kia EV6 pricing (excl. $1,545 destination):** $37,900 Light SR RWD · $41,200 Light LR RWD · $45,200 Light LR AWD · $44,800 Wind RWD · $48,800 Wind AWD · $48,700 GT-Line RWD · $53,000 GT-Line AWD

Kia is also working to move metal before the new cars settle in. Customer cash of $10,000** is on the table for the 2026 EV9, **$5,000 for the 2026 EV6 and $1,500 for the 2027 EV3.

For shoppers, the decision comes down to what the premium actually buys. Faster charging and more room — or a smaller payment and a car that still covers most daily duties. Kia now offers both answers in the same showroom.
