IM Motors Launches Pre-Sales for New LS6, Aiming Squarely at Tesla Model Y Shoppers

IM Motors has kicked off pre-sales for its redesigned LS6, the latest move in an increasingly crowded Chinese electric SUV segment. The company is positioning the new model to compete directly with the Tesla Model Y, signaling its intent to win over buyers who might otherwise default to the American brand.

The new LS6 debuts with three all-electric versions, with pricing starting at 209,900 yuan (roughly $30,970). Range figures reach up to 782 km on the CLTC standard, a number that should appeal to drivers who prioritize long-distance capability.

By launching pre-sales now, IM Motors is looking to build momentum before the vehicle reaches showrooms. The brand’s challenge will be convincing shoppers that the LS6 offers a stronger overall package than the Model Y — a tough task in a market where Tesla remains a benchmark. IM Motors appears confident the updated design and pricing can make that case.
