IBU-tec Receives Green Light for LFP Plant in Germany

IBU-tec, a battery materials firm from Thuringia, has taken a significant step forward with its planned LFP cathode production site in Bitterfeld-Wolfen. The company, which supplies materials to PowerCo, Volkswagen’s battery arm, has just obtained the necessary operating permit from the regional administrative authority in Saxony-Anhalt. This approval moves the project closer to the start of production. The facility is set to play a key role in Europe’s growing LFP supply chain, as automakers increasingly turn to this cost-effective battery chemistry.
