GMG's Graphene G CELLS Keep Full Capacity Through 489 Fast-Charge Cycles

Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG) says its G CELLS fast-charging battery has completed 489 charge and discharge cycles with no measurable capacity loss. The results come from testing carried out by the Battery Innovation Center of Indiana and were current as of September 4, 2026.

According to the data, the 1 Ah pouch cells went through each cycle in six minutes. That means GMG is pointing to both cycle life and charge speed as the headline strengths of its graphene-based cell design.

If the numbers hold up in larger formats, the technology could be relevant for applications where batteries are cycled hard and often. GMG has not said when G CELLS might reach commercial production, so the 489-cycle milestone remains a laboratory result for now.

Cycling durability is one of the main questions buyers ask about any new battery chemistry. GMG’s results add a data point to the graphene battery debate, though independent verification beyond BIC’s testing is not yet available.
