Electreon Unveils Wireless Charging Pad for Everyday Parking Spots

Electreon has added a stationary inductive charging product to its lineup, targeting passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Named Lite DOT, the system delivers up to 11 kW of wireless power and is designed to slot into parking spaces that already exist, avoiding the heavy construction typically associated with charging infrastructure projects.

Getting the system to work requires a compatible receiver installed on the vehicle itself. That means the hardware is not a universal plug-and-play upgrade for any EV, but rather a solution that automakers or fleet operators would need to integrate. The approach aligns with Electreon’s broader work in inductive charging, where the company has focused on embedding coils into roads and other surfaces.

For now, the company is positioning Lite DOT as a practical option for locations where digging trenches or running new conduit isn’t feasible. Parking lots, depots, and residential garages are the kinds of settings where a pad-based system could make more sense than a traditional cable setup.
