Dacia's New Spring Moves Production From China to Slovenia

Dacia has pulled the wraps off the second generation of its Spring electric car, and the big news isn’t just the redesign — it’s where the car will be built. The budget-friendly EV, which previously came out of China, will now be assembled in Slovenia, sharing a production line with the Twingo E-Tech that uses the same technical platform. The shift marks a notable step for Dacia’s small electric hatchback as it takes on a more European identity.

Pricing remains the Spring’s calling card. The entire lineup stays under the €20,000 threshold, with the range kicking off at €17,900 — roughly $20,800 at current exchange rates. That positions the A-segment model as one of the more accessible electric options on the market, a segment where few rivals can match its entry point.

By pairing the Spring with the Twingo E-Tech on the same platform and assembly site, Dacia and its parent group appear to be consolidating resources around a shared small-EV architecture. For buyers, the message is straightforward: the next Spring keeps its low sticker price while gaining European manufacturing credentials.
