Corvus Energy and BYD Launch Blue Whale NxtGen Power for High-Power Marine Applications

Corvus Energy has unveiled Blue Whale NxtGen Power, an LFP-based energy storage solution tailored for electric ships requiring high power delivery rather than maximum capacity. This system marks the first outcome of a strategic partnership with BYD Energy Storage, which supplies the core battery cells.

While many marine batteries prioritize energy density for extended range, this new design focuses on rapid discharge capabilities, making it suitable for vessels like ferries or tugboats that demand brief bursts of power. The collaboration is expected to streamline supply chains by leveraging BYD’s manufacturing expertise.
