Continental Expands Ultra-High-Performance Tyre Lineup by 650 Sizes

Continental is broadening its ultra-high-performance (UHP) tyre portfolio with 650 additional sizes, a move that reflects how modern vehicles are putting new demands on rubber. The company points to heavier cars, the instant torque delivery of electric powertrains and a wider spread of model variants as the forces reshaping the segment.

As EVs become more common, tyres face a different workload than they did in the combustion era. Battery weight raises the load each tyre must carry, while electric motors deliver maximum torque almost instantly. That combination pushes tyre makers toward compounds and constructions that can handle both grip and durability without sacrificing efficiency.

The expansion also speaks to the sheer variety of vehicles now on the road, from high-performance SUVs to sporty electric sedans. By adding so many sizes, Continental is positioning itself to cover more of that spread rather than concentrating only on traditional performance cars. The company has not disclosed pricing or a rollout timeline for the new sizes.
