Circle K Widens EV Charging Access via Plugsurfing Partnership

Circle K, the convenience store and fuel station operator, is bolstering its electric vehicle charging platform by integrating Plugsurfing’s roaming aggregation. This move lets drivers use the Circle K app to locate, start, and pay for charging sessions at over one million public points across Europe, effectively extending its reach far beyond its proprietary infrastructure.

The collaboration aims to simplify the user experience by removing the need for multiple apps or RFID cards. Instead, customers benefit from a unified interface for billing and access, a crucial step as cross-border EV travel grows. Circle K’s existing network remains a core part of the offering, but the partnership addresses the ‘range anxiety’ that often arises when leaving familiar territories.

According to Circle K, the expanded service will roll out progressively through 2026, targeting both light-duty and heavy-duty EV users. Plugsurfing, a subsidiary of DKV Mobility, brings extensive experience in interoperability, having previously connected various charge point operators under one digital roof.

Industry observers note that such roaming deals are becoming a competitive standard, as fuel retailers pivot toward comprehensive mobility services. Circle K’s initiative underscores a broader trend: chargers, not just fuel, are now a market differentiator for legacy forecourt brands.
