Changan's Deepal Prepares 2027 L06 Sedan Launch and Paris Show Debut for S07, S05

Deepal, the new-energy vehicle arm of Changan Automobile, is moving quickly to refresh its lineup. The brand will put the 2027 model-year L06 sedan on sale on October 9, a remarkably short interval given that the outgoing version only reached the market in November 2025. Alongside the standard car, Deepal will also release an L06 Zhuifeng edition, a variant first shown at the Chengdu Auto Show in August.
The refreshed L06 is being pitched as a long-range AI sports sedan equipped with magnetorheological suspension. Deepal chairman Deng Chenghao says the car’s AI capabilities have been expanded through an AI Agent and an AI Box, allowing the vehicle to interpret a driver’s intent from a single spoken command. The AI Box was co-developed with Intel and relies on Intel’s Core Ultra platform, which Deepal describes as bringing PC-grade on-device computing into a vehicle segment centered around the 150,000 yuan mark.
Magnetorheological suspension is notable in this price bracket, since the technology has traditionally appeared on high-end performance machines. The Zhuifeng edition leans further into that sporting character, adding track-focused hardware and a large fixed carbon-fiber rear wing that Deepal says can generate up to 1,000 N of downforce at speed. Deng has said the edition grew out of owner feedback, after the company noticed enthusiasts fitting splitters, side skirts and wings themselves. It comes with an exclusive yellow paint finish.
The current L06, a five-seat rear-wheel-drive sedan, uses a 200 kW rear motor and CATL lithium iron phosphate batteries, with CLTC range options of 560 km or 670 km. It carries LiDAR and two Horizon Robotics J6M chips and was the first Deepal model to run the company’s Deepal AD Max driver assistance system. In China it competes with the Xpeng Mona M03 and the BYD Seal 06. The existing car starts at 125,900 yuan.
Internationally, Deepal is bringing the S07 and S05 SUVs to the Paris Motor Show, which runs from October 12 to 18, under the slogan “Smart Your Future.” The two models will appear at Changan’s stand in Hall 7.1. Deepal was created by Changan in 2022 and now fields the SL03, L07, S05, G318, S07 and S09, with the S07 AI LiDAR edition recently arriving at a limited-time promotional price of 149,900 to 169,900 yuan.
