CATL and DHL Partner to Push Electric Road Freight Across Europe

CATL and logistics giant DHL have signed a fresh agreement aimed at speeding up the electrification of road freight in Europe. The two companies will work together on electric trucks, charging infrastructure and battery swapping trials, with the shared goal of reducing emissions from heavy transport.

The deal places battery swapping among the practical tools being tested for long-haul logistics, a segment where downtime and range are persistent concerns. Rather than focusing on passenger cars, the cooperation targets the freight corridor where diesel still dominates.

By combining CATL’s battery and swapping capabilities with DHL’s European delivery network, the partnership reflects a broader push to move commercial fleets away from fossil fuels. The pilot projects are expected to show how quickly the technology can be scaled for everyday freight operations.
