BYD's Fang Cheng Bao Brand to Debut Formula S Sedan Lineup on September 16

Fang Cheng Bao, the off-road-focused sub-brand under BYD, is preparing to expand beyond SUVs with its first-ever sedan range. The Formula S lineup is scheduled to make its official debut on September 16, according to CnEVPost.

Two variants have been confirmed for the launch: the Formula S and the Formula S GT. Pre-sales pricing for the pair spans from 230,000 yuan to 280,000 yuan, which works out to roughly $33,940 at current exchange rates.

That price bracket positions the Formula S family in China’s competitive mid-to-premium EV segment. Fang Cheng Bao has built its reputation on rugged SUVs, so a sedan marks a notable strategic shift as the brand broadens its product portfolio within BYD’s multi-brand structure.
