BYD, CATL and Xiaomi Executives Tipped to Join Xi's US Delegation

A high-profile business delegation accompanying Chinese President Xi Jinping on a visit to the United States could include senior figures from three of China’s most prominent electric-vehicle and battery companies, according to people familiar with the planning cited by Yahoo Finance.

The names in question belong to BYD, the world’s largest EV maker; CATL, the dominant battery supplier; and Xiaomi, the consumer-electronics giant that has rapidly built a position in the electric car market. Their reported inclusion would place China’s clean-transport supply chain near the centre of a diplomatic and commercial engagement rather than on the sidelines.

The composition of the delegation has not been officially confirmed, and the sources cautioned that plans of this kind can change. Neither the companies nor Chinese officials have publicly detailed the roster.
