Bosch Debuts Rigid eAxle for Heavy Electric Trucks at IAA Transportation

Bosch has introduced a new electric rigid axle aimed at heavy commercial vehicles, making its debut at the IAA Transportation show. The Rigid eAxle combines an electric motor and transmission into a single unit, and it is engineered to handle vehicles with gross weights from 18 to 49 tonnes.

Alongside the axle, the supplier is presenting a range of related technologies for electrified trucking, including thermal management systems, driver assistance features, and software-defined vehicle architecture.

By integrating the motor and gearbox directly into the axle, Bosch aims to simplify the drivetrain layout for heavy electric trucks while supporting the broader push toward zero-emission freight transport.
