BMW installs high-voltage battery line at Regensburg for Neue Klasse

BMW is gearing up for the launch of its Neue Klasse models at the Regensburg plant. During a three-week production break, the company set up a new pre-assembly line dedicated to integrating high-voltage batteries into the vehicle bodies. This marks a key step in preparing the factory for the next-generation electric architecture.

Beyond the battery line, the plant also underwent other updates to accommodate the Neue Klasse production process. The work reflects BMW’s broader strategy of transitioning existing facilities to support its electric future.

The Regensburg site is one of several BMW plants being adapted for the Neue Klasse, which will debut with new models built on a dedicated EV platform. The company has emphasized flexibility in its production network, allowing for both conventional and electric vehicles on the same lines.
