AVILOO's Used-EV Battery Study Puts 20 Popular Models Under the Microscope

Battery diagnostics firm AVILOO has published what it bills as the largest independent look yet at how electric vehicle packs hold up after years on the road. The company’s Certified EV Battery Report draws on more than 500,000 separate tests of used EVs, gathered between 2022 and 2026 across 20 widely sold models.

The headline promise is independence. Rather than relying on automaker data or warranty claims, AVILOO’s dataset comes from individual diagnostic sessions on vehicles already in the hands of second owners — the stage where battery condition matters most to buyers and sellers.

For used-EV shoppers, that kind of cross-model comparison has been hard to come by. Degradation figures are rarely published in a comparable format, leaving trade-in values and private sales to hinge on guesswork.

AVILOO says the findings carry weight precisely because of the scale and the neutral footing of the testing. The company has not disclosed a model-by-model ranking in its announcement.
