Xiaomi Locks In 2027 European EV Rollout, Starting With German Dealer Network

Xiaomi Auto has put a firm date on its European ambitions. During IFA Berlin, the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that it will begin selling electric vehicles across Europe, Germany included, in 2027.

The company isn’t waiting until launch day to build its retail footprint. At the same event, Xiaomi signed memoranda of understanding with eight of Germany’s largest dealer groups, marking its first retail partnerships anywhere on the continent.

Those agreements signal a distribution-first strategy for Xiaomi, which appears to be securing showroom and service capacity before its cars reach European customers. The approach mirrors the playbook used by other Chinese EV makers entering the region, though Xiaomi’s brand recognition in consumer electronics could give it a head start.
