Waymo Expands Robotaxi Access to Denver, San Diego, and Tampa

Waymo has widened access to its driverless ride-hailing service, welcoming everyday riders in Denver, San Diego, and Tampa. With these three additions, the Alphabet-owned operator now runs in 14 U.S. cities, extending a footprint that has grown steadily over the past year.

Interest in each new market was already building before launch. According to Waymo, tens of thousands of residents had signed up ahead of the public opening, and the company plans to onboard them in stages rather than all at once.

That phased approach mirrors how Waymo has handled previous rollouts, letting it manage demand while monitoring how its autonomous fleet performs in unfamiliar streets and traffic patterns. Riders in the three cities can expect invitations to arrive gradually over the coming weeks.
