Wallbox Taps Enode to Open Its Chargers to Third-Party Energy Apps

Wallbox has struck a partnership with Enode, the company behind an energy orchestration platform, to give its chargers a direct line into external energy apps and services across Europe.
The arrangement works through Wallbox’s API, which Enode now hooks into. Once connected, compatible energy platforms can talk to Wallbox hardware, letting drivers pair their chargers with services that handle everything from smart charging schedules to electricity tariff optimization and broader home energy management.
According to Wallbox Chief Product & Technology Officer Eduard Castañeda, the company sees EV charging heading toward deeper integration with the wider energy ecosystem. He framed the Enode tie-up as a way to let users plug their chargers into apps they already rely on, so charging becomes more efficient and energy consumption easier to steer.
For Wallbox, the move is less about new hardware and more about widening the software surface around its existing chargers — a signal that connectivity and interoperability are becoming as important as the charging box itself in Europe’s evolving EV infrastructure.
