TOGG Ownership Shake-Up: Turkcell Emerges as a Potential New Partner

Turkey’s national EV maker TOGG is reportedly preparing for a change in its shareholder structure, with telecom operator Turkcell emerging as a possible new participant. The development points to a broader recalibration of the partnership model behind the country’s flagship electric vehicle brand.
The current structure is anchored by a group of established Turkish industrial and financial players, including Anadolu Group, BMC, Vestel, Zorlu Holding and Koc Holding, alongside the TOGG Foundation and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. Turkcell’s potential entry would add a telecommunications and digital-services dimension to a partnership that has so far been defined largely by manufacturing, energy and consumer-electronics interests.
For a young automaker still scaling production and building out its charging and software ecosystem, a telecom partner offers tangible strategic value. Connectivity, in-car data services, over-the-air update delivery and subscription-based digital features are increasingly central to how EV makers differentiate their products. Turkcell’s network infrastructure and consumer billing relationships could plug directly into that layer.
At the same time, any reshuffle among TOGG’s shareholders would carry symbolic weight in Turkey, where the brand is closely watched as an industrial policy project. Changes to the cap table can affect governance, decision-making speed and the pace of investment in new models and export plans. Turkcell has not confirmed any commitment, and the details of what role it might take remain unverified.
The story is still developing, and the final shape of TOGG’s ownership will depend on negotiations that have not been publicly disclosed. What is clear is that the company is entering a phase where financial and technological partnerships — not just vehicle launches — will determine how competitive it can be in an EV market that is becoming steadily more crowded.
