Tesla Quietly Adds $5,000 to Cybertruck Price Tag While Production Stalls

Tesla has discreetly increased the starting price of its Cybertruck by 74,990, up from the previous $69,990. The adjustment was made without any accompanying changes to the vehicle’s specifications or features, catching many potential buyers off guard.
The price hike comes at a time when the Cybertruck’s production line is reportedly operating at only about 10% of its intended capacity. This stark contrast between the price increase and the sluggish production pace raises questions about Tesla’s strategy, especially given the earlier concerns about demand for the angular electric pickup.
Industry observers note that raising prices during a period of weak demand is an unconventional move. Some speculate that Tesla might be repositioning the Cybertruck as a premium product, while others believe the automaker is testing the limits of its customer base’s willingness to pay. Regardless of the motive, the move has added another layer of uncertainty to the already volatile EV truck market.
