Tesla Posts Solid Q3: 464,000 Vehicles Built, 486,000 Delivered

Tesla closed the third quarter of 2026 with 464,000 vehicles manufactured and 486,000 handed over to customers, a result that signals a return to steadier output after an uneven 2025. The production figure stands 3.7 per cent above the same quarter a year earlier and 2.7 per cent ahead of the second quarter of 2026, marking the strongest build total since roughly 470,000 units were assembled in Q3 2024.

Deliveries tell a similar story of gradual improvement. The 486,000 vehicles delivered represent a 1.2 per cent gain over Q2 2026, a quarter that was itself about 25 per cent stronger than the seasonally quieter opening three months of the year. Even so, Tesla did not quite match its own Q3 performance from last year, when it came close to the 500,000 mark.

The model split remains heavily skewed toward the company’s two volume sellers. Model 3 and Model Y together accounted for 457,387 units produced and 478,237 delivered. The remaining lineup — chiefly the Cybertruck and Semi, plus any leftover Model S and Model X stock — contributed just 7,004 builds and 8,295 deliveries.

Beyond vehicles, Tesla reported 13.7 GWh of energy storage deployments in the quarter, covering residential systems and commercial-scale batteries. A fuller picture of revenue and profit will arrive on 21 October, when the company publishes its quarterly financial results.
