Stellantis and Factorial Take Solid-State Battery Tech to the Road in Development Vehicle

Stellantis has moved its solid-state battery collaboration with Factorial into a new phase, installing the advanced cells into a development vehicle and beginning road testing. The milestone marks a step beyond laboratory validation, putting the technology through real-world driving conditions.

Solid-state batteries are widely viewed as a promising next step for electric vehicles, offering the potential for higher energy density and improved safety compared with conventional lithium-ion designs. By integrating Factorial’s cells into an actual vehicle, Stellantis aims to evaluate how the technology performs outside controlled test environments.
