SkyDrive and Verty Team Up to Bring Commercial eVTOL Flights to South Korea by 2028

Japan’s SkyDrive has entered a memorandum of understanding with South Korean aviation firm Verty, setting the stage for a joint push toward commercial eVTOL service in South Korea. The two companies plan to carry out a feasibility assessment as the first step of their cooperation.

The partnership aims at launching commercial operations by 2028, according to the agreement. Both sides will examine what it would take to make regular electric vertical takeoff and landing flights a reality in the South Korean market.

The MOU positions SkyDrive, a Japanese developer of compact electric aircraft, alongside a local Korean operator, a pairing that could help navigate the country’s regulatory and infrastructure landscape. Details of the assessment’s scope were not disclosed in the announcement.
