Rivian CFO Claire McDonough Leaves for GE Vernova as R2 Launch Nears

Rivian’s finance chief, Claire McDonough, is stepping down from her role effective October 30 after nearly six years with the electric automaker. She will take the CFO position at GE Vernova, the energy equipment company spun off from General Electric.

The timing is notable: McDonough’s exit lands as Rivian prepares to ramp production of the R2, the SUV positioned between roughly 45,000and45,000 and 58,000 that the company is counting on to move from niche player to volume manufacturer.

Leading finance through a model launch of this scale is a demanding job, and Rivian will now need to fill the seat while keeping its cost and production targets on track. The company has not yet named a successor in the information available so far.
